Safe travels: Global protocols and seal for the new normal
The WTTC along with our members, governments, health experts, and other industry associations are working together to achieve effective recovery protocols by developing meaningful action plans that optimize recovery efforts across the industry.
Part of our protocols include providing the public and private sectors with knowledge and toolkits for interaction and implementation to ensure that people are and feel safe, however WTTC, our members and the industry cannot guarantee the 100% security. It is essential to have common rules. Ultimately, we envision a future of travel that is safe, seamless, and provides an authentic and meaningful traveler experience throughout travel; one that supports the livelihoods of millions and contributes to sustainable economic growth.
We will create short protocol reports for at least nine industries within Travel & Tourism to align the private sector with common standards to ensure the safety of its workforce and travelers as the sector shifts to a new normal.
Please note that while the protocols take into account current WHO and CDC guidelines, they are documents that we will update as new information on COVID-19 becomes available..
Global Security Seal of Approval to Recognize Safe Travel Protocols
The specially designed seal will allow travelers to recognize governments and companies around the world that have adopted global standardized health and hygiene protocols, so that consumers can experience "Safe Travel".
Eligible businesses, such as hotels, restaurants, airlines, cruise lines, tour operators, restaurants, outdoor stores, transportation, and airports, will be able to use the seal once the health and hygiene protocols, outlined by WTTC, have been implemented. Destinations will also help give the seal of approval to local suppliers.
The launch of global protocols to bring the Travel & Tourism industry back has been accepted by more than 200 CEOs, including some of the world's leading tourism groups. Ensuring the safety and hygiene of travelers is the highest priority.
